Metroethernet

Metroethernet is a city network where optical fiber runs right up to your building and an Ethernet cable brings the connection into your apartment or office.

This technology (FTTB — Fiber to the Building) does not depend on a phone line: the Internet comes into your home over a network cable and needs no modem. The result is a steady speed all day, low latency and an office-grade connection at home.
